The following is a suggested list of items that have served us well when running relays.  We also encourage you to share any secret weapons that make the experience more enjoyable and safe for everyone.  We will gladly add them to our list for all to see.


Required Van Supplies

  • At least one mobile phone per van with a list of all team mobile phone numbers
  • Emergency kit: antibiotic ointment, athletic wrap, band-aids, cold packs and pain medicine
  • Tuna Run 200 Handbook
  • Vans (no buses, campers, limousines, trailers, motor homes or extra vehicles)
  • At least two reflective vests for each van to be worn by runners from 6:30 pm – 7:30 am.
  • At least two headlamps and four blinking lights for each van to be worn by runners from 6:30 pm – 7:30 am


Recommended Van Supplies

  • Clipboard for Team Time Log
  • At least one Walkie Talkie per van as cell coverage can be spotty in places
  • Cooler with ice
  • Food
  • Maps
  • Printout of runner legs — you will be amazed how many times you read and re-read this pertinent information!
  • Marker, paper, pens
  • Sports drinks
  • Wet wipes, paper towels
  • Trash bags
  • Water
  • Snacks / Energy Bars / Gels
  • Van storage rack — you will have a lot of stuff, trust us


Recommended Runner Supplies

  • Bandana/cloth for dusty roads
  • Camera
  • Driver license, ID
  • Flashlight
  • Foot-care aids
  • Money
  • Pillows & Blankets
  • Plastic bags for wet clothes, icing injuries, trash
  • Protective aids: pepper spray, phone, whistle
  • Reflective, warm, water wicking gear (windbreaker)
  • Running shoes, shirts, shorts, socks – a clean set for each leg (as well as something to change into between each leg)
  • Toiletries: Shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, toilet paper, towel
  • Sleeping bag, tent, tarp
  • Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, visor
  • Vaseline, BodyGlide
  • Water bottle
